With this year\u2019s Olympic Games being held in London in the UK, many of the events will be going on during the evening in the United States. This is a great opportunity for bars and restaurants in America to draw in customers by installing an outdoor TV so people can watch the games while enjoying a beer in the summer evening.<\/p>\n

The Olympic Games is one of the most watched sporting events in America. On average 27 million American s watched the Beijing Olympics, and this year\u2019s games could attract even more attention, and what better way for hospitality businesses to take advantage than to install an outdoor TV.<\/p>\n

Outdoor TV Enclosure<\/h2>\n

Outdoor TVs don\u2019t have to be expensive. Even small hospitality businesses can afford an outdoor TV system by using an outdoor TV enclosure<\/a>. The great advantage of these enclosures is that they can house pretty much any make or model of TV, even those designed for indoor use.<\/p>\n

An outdoor TV enclosure provides all the protection for these standard TVs so they can operate safely and reliably outdoors. They also offer security so the TV can be left outside 24 hours a day and not succumb to either damage caused by the weather, theft or vandalism.<\/p>\n

Protection<\/h2>\n

For a TV to operate outside the protection required is multifaceted. Firstly, it is going to need to be waterproof to protect from the rain and other weather elements. This is not as easy as it sounds, as TVs need to \u201cbreathe.\u201d In other words, because TVs generate heat whilst in operation this heat needs to be removed to prevent the screen from overheating. This involves using cooling fans to suck in cool air and expel the warm air. Of course, this means that the venting systems to allow this air transfer has to be very clever, otherwise moisture would be able to creep in.<\/p>\n

Secondly, outdoor TVs need to have some form of internal temperature control to allow the screens top operate in both winter and summer. While cooling fans can counter overheating, as outlined above, when it comes to the winter, screens need to be kept warm enough to avoid freezing. This is normally done by insulation that makes use of the ambient heat generated by the screen, although in extreme conditions, internal heaters are used to make sure components don\u2019t freeze.<\/p>\n

Finally, an outdoor TV enclosure is often made from steel, which makes it highly secure and able to withstand both vandalism and attempts at theft. With the addition of shatterproof screens and security locks, there is no reason why an outdoor TV can\u2019t be left in the TV enclosure 245 hours a day, 365 days a year.<\/p>\n

Investment<\/h2>\n

The outdoor TV enclosure makes a great investment for bars and hospitality industries. It\u2019s not just the Olympic Games, which an outdoor TV can help generate extra custom, but also the Super Bowl, World Series and other sporting events can all be viewed outdoors on the TV.<\/p>\n
